Desktop Size and Position

You can use your mouse or the arrow keys on your keyboard to adjust the position of your desktop to better fit your display. This is a useful alternative to using the controls (buttons) on your actual physical display.

Why decrease the size of your desktop?

You can reduce the size of your desktop on your HDTV screen if your desktop or picture is running off-screen so that desktop elements are being cropped at the edges.

Why enlarge your desktop?

You can enlarge your desktop on your HDTV screen if your desktop or picture is not filling the entire screen and you see black borders around the desktop.

Why pan a large desktop on your HDTV?

You may want to pan your desktop if the image is running off-screen causing parts of your desktop or picture to be cropped. Panning means when you move your mouse past the edges (i.e., right, left, top, or bottom edge) where the desktop/picture  starts being cropped, you can see the hidden parts.
